Mrs. [Ives?] Pres. Mrs Knowlton Sec. The Cary Club met at the home of Mrs Haddock with eleven members present. Pres. presiding. Roll call responded to by quotations from prominent Clergymen. Minutes of last meeting read and approved Mrs Voris appointed critic. Sec. read a letter from Treasury of Iowa Federation of Women's Clubs requesting the Cary Club dues should be paid for the present year. Motion made and carried that the dues be paid. Current events given to each member. "Sketch of Porto Rick" by Mrs Hanson to which was added items by other members. Mrs. Humphrey read a paper upon the "Domestic Life of The Egyptian". "Biography of Dr. Talmange", by Mrs. Cook Reading from "Egyptian Princess" by Mrs. Hurlburt Pres appointed Mrs. Humphrey to read from "Egyptian Princess" at the next meeting. Club ajourned, to meet [illegible] with Humphrey. Mrs. Ives Pres. Mrs. [Knowltore?] Sec. Jan-1-1900. The Cary Club met at the house of Mrs. Humphrey with nine members and two visitors present. Pres. presiding. Roll call responded to by New Years Quotations. Minutes of last meet meeting read and approved. Mrs. Hindman appointed Critic. Report of Critic from previous meeting. Current events given and discussed Mrs. Knowlton read a paper "A Glimpse of Modern Spain". Mrs Hindman conducted a Lesson in English".
