        Marion Iowa  Oct 5th 1903
  The Cary Club held their first meeting
  of the year with the President Mrs J C Davis
     13 members were present, "Home" was
  the subject of our program for the day
        Mrs Rathbun gave an excellent talk on
  "The Ideal Mother" and Mrs Alexander gave a 
  very interesting talk on "Culinary Ark and
  home decoration" each subject being
  followed by a short discussion by the
  club members. The [illegible] [illegible] then
  read a report of last years expense which was
  unanimously accepted. A motion was
  made by Mrs Doris and seconded by Mrs
  Hutchinson that "we defer the proposing of
  names for new members until some future
  meeting. Motion carried, Club then adjourned
  to meet in two weeks at the home of Mrs Alexander
