Marion Iowa Monday Nov. 19th 06 The Cary Club met at the home of Mrs. Hutchinson with hearts saddened by the news that our beloved sister Mrs. Slookey had that morning passed forever from our midst. 13 members were present our new member Mrs Troy berrig with us besides sisters Hadwin, Pyle, Griffelks, Parmenter, Gibson, Davis, Dobson, Brown, Phelps, Cook, McKean, and Hutchinson Sisters Alexander and Voris being excused to call at the home of Mrs. Slookey in C. R. Pres. called meeting to order. Roll Call responded to be current events. Minutes of former meetong read + accepted. A short business meeting resulted in the election of Mrs Sargent to fill the place of Mrs. Mentzer retired. Guest day was discussed and it was moved and carried to postpone same untill Jan 14th tranfering [sic] the program for that day to Dec 31st The program was then taken up and very interesting articals [sic] were read by Mrs, McKean on Dutch Country. Mrs. Davis, Dutch Cities. Mrs Hadwin doing Mrs Alexanders work on Dutch Art very acceptably. Adjourned to meet in two weeks with Mrs Cook. Mrs Hadwin Mrs Hutchinson Pres. Sec.
