Marion Iowa Oct 21st 1907 The Cary Club met at the home of Mrs. T.R. Alexander quotations from Bryant were given in response to roll call. The members present were Alexander, [?], Hadwin, Phelps, Griffiths, Dobson, Gibson, Hutchinson, Parmenter, Voris, Rathbun, Sargeant, E.M.McKean, Brown, Pyle. Mrs. Alexander and Mrs. Brown were delegated to assist at the rummage sale. "Bryant the Man" was the subject of an article read by Mrs. [?] Parmenter, "Thanatophics" by Mrs. L.T.D Hadwin was followed by a discussion of the subject by members of the club. Current events were then given, and club adjourned to meet in two weeks with Mrs. E.M.McKean. Mrs. Alexander Pres. Mrs. Pyle Secy. Marion Iowa. Nov 4th 1907 The Cary Club met at the home of Mrs. E.M.McKean with fourteen members and two guests present. The guests were Mrs. [?] and Mrs. Brown's sister Mrs. Calkins of Sioux City. Pres. called meeting to order. Quotations from Bryant were given in response to roll call. Minutes of the previous meeting read and approved. Mrs. Bailey appointed critic. Bryant the 'Poet' was the subject of a paper by Mrs. J.G.Ives. Mrs. Dobson being absent The Planting of the Apple Tree was read by Mrs. Max Voris and "T[?] Hymn" by Mrs. T.R.Alexander. Current events was then given and the club adjourned to meet in two weeks with Mrs. Max Voris. Mrs. Alexander Pres. Mrs. Pyle Secy.
