Marion Iowa Nov 16th 1908 The Cary Club met at the home of Mrs. Parmenter. The Vice Pres. Mrs. Sargeant presiding. Conundrums were given in response to roll call. There were twelve members present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The following program then given Mrs. T.R Alexander gave a talk on Mrs. H. Ward and her work. Mrs. Sargeant a paper on agriculteure in the public schools. A motion moved and second that our delegate be instructed to vote to use money in City Fed of Clubs Treas. to purchase books for library carried. A motion moved and that the club take amount of ten cents per [?] to [?] the expense of "Lecture on [?]" from treas. carried. Pres. appointed Mrs. Phelps as Treas. to fill vacancy caused by the removal of Mrs. W.A Dobson. Current events was then given. Adjourned to meet with Mrs. Cross Mrs. Susie Brown Sec'y.
