144 Marion Iowa Feb 24." 1909 The Cary Club held there picnic dinner at the home of Mrs. E J Mentzer. the husband of the members were in - vited. there were eighteen members and thirteen guests present. A menue of three courses was served on small tables in the dining room partners being found by matching the names of State capitals, with the corresponding States. A short program given during the evening was very much enjoyed Wife Gardner of C Rapids favored the guests with piano solo's. Mrs. Winter & Mrs Hutchinson gave readings & Mr E W Griffiths proved him self an adept at story telling. Every one went home the happier for having been present, all felt that Mr. & Mrs. Mentzer were royal entertainers. S Brown Sec y
