Marion. Iowa. May 8th 1911 Cary Club met at Library Assembly room. The meeting of May 1st was postponed to May the 8th on account of the funeral of Mrs Seaton. Club was called order by Pres Mrs Winter Thirteen members responded to roll call by quotations from "Tennyson". On visitor Mrs S Calkins was with us. Election being in order Pres appointed Mrs Pyle and Mrs Ives tellers resulting in the unanimous vote of Club for Mrs Mentzer for Pres. also unan' vote Mrs Alderman for Sec'y and same for Mrs Davi for Treas'. Motion mad an sec'd [sic] that By laws shall be read at Annual meeting. carried. Program of day followed. first was "Queen Victoria's Descendants", by Mrs Brown. Rural England by Mrs Mentzer. x Current events. Criticisms. Credits taken on account of muddy road the club did not meet with Mrs Blinks. Adjourned to meet with Mrs Pyle x Age of Romanticism was given by Mrs T R Alexander
