Mrs. Bailey then read an interesting article on libraries and their movement from which we learned that the first library was founded in 1644. The program being finished the club adjourned to meet in two weeks with Mrs. Ives. Mrs. Blinks President. Mrs. McKean Secretary. Marion Iowa October 14 1912 The Cary Club met at the home of Mrs. Ives Monday afternoon at two-thirty. Sixteen members responded to roll call with quotations from Phrobe[?] and Alice Cary. Minutes of previous meeting were read and accepted. The advisability of federating with the State Federation was fully discussed and a vote taken with the result that our delegates were instructed to report unfavorably but that we were favorable to the City Federation federating. Mrs. Brown then gave a most interesting description of the Library of Congress. Mrs. McKean was to have conducted a parliamentary drill which was postponed and an article entitles "The Decay of the American Parent" was substituted. Current events were then given after which club adjourned to meet in two weeks with Mrs. Phelps. Miss Angel was a welcome guest of the afternoon. Mrs. Blinks President. Mrs. McKean Secretary.
