271 Marion, Iowa Oct 2nd 1916 Cary Club met at the home of Mrs Alexander. Then members responded to roll call with quotations from Schiller. Minutes of meeting of Sept 18" read and approved. The first topic for the afternoon, The Panama Canal was given by Mrs McKean. Mrs Winter then gave a pronunciation test which proved to be very helpful. Current Events were discussed and arrangments made for a club picnic to be held at the home of Mrs Wilson in two weeks. Our Hostess then served dainty refreshments, after which Club adjourned. Mrs Mentzer Pres. Mrs Alderman Sec. Marion, Iowa Oct 16, 1916. Cary Club met at the pleasant country home of Mrs Wilson. Fourteen members and five visitors enjoyed a spread at one o'clock. After which Pres called club to order Favorite recipes were given in respons to roll call. Minutes of last meeting were read and approved.
