279 Marion Iowa April 2- 1917 Cary Club met with Mrs Brown at the usual hour. Pres Mrs Mentzer called Club to order. Roll call responded to by quotations from Browning. Minutes of last meeting accepted as read. Mrs Winters Subject, "Brazil - the country and its cities" was very interesting. Mrs Waffle gave a review of the new book by [Lace Reclusiond?] "Star in the country sky" which all enjoyed. Mrs Pyle chairman of program com. then read the program for 1917-1918 after which current events were given and club adjourned to meet in two weeks with Mrs Blinks. Thirteen members enjoyed the Social hour. Hostess treated ladies to apples Mrs Mentzer Pres. Addie Shumack Sec. protem.
