295 Cary Club Elects. At a recent meeting of the Cary club, at the home of Mrs. Laura Bailey, the following officers were elected for the ensuing year: President - Mrs. E.W. McKean. Vice President - Mrs. C.A. Pyle. Secretary - Mrs Addie Shumack. Treasurer - Mrs. C.E. Cross. Marion, Iowa. May 27, 1918. The Cary Club met with Mrs Pyle at one oclock, regular program and to sew for the Red Cross. The President Mrs Blinks called meeting to order, roll call being responded to, by - Wit & Humor. Minutes of proceeding meeting read & approved. The day of the club tea was changed from June 10" to Tuesday June 4", on account of Chautauqua & was decided to have a picnic supper at Mrs McKeans. Mrs Phelps, Griffiths & Blinks were appointed on committee to make arrangements for the picnic. The 34" & last chapter of the club story was read. Mrs Pyle gave part of Mrs Rathbuns work on, "National Park, Yosemite," & Mrs Hanscom, "General Grant & Sequoia." Current events were given & club adjourned to meet in one week for the picnic. Mrs Blinks Pres. Carrie Reichert Secy. Cary Club Has Tea; Also Its Elections The Cary club held its annual tea at the hospitable home of Mrs. E. W. McKean, 771 Twelfth street, June 25. The cheery, spacious room were decorated with garden flowers. The members, with their families and guests, enjoyed a pleasant visit over their needlework. A bountiful tea was served by those in charge at 6:30. This club, in addition to its regular study, has during the past six months made for Belgian Relief one pillow and two cases, one cape, two bonnets, 5 pairs bootees, 1 jacket, 4 sacques, 4 slips, 4 petticoats, 12 shirts, 6 quilts, 4 dresses, 3 pairs drawers, 4 miscellaneous garments, and has knit for the Red Cross during the year 81 pairs of socks, 4 sweaters, 22 pairs of wristlets, 4 helmets, 3 scarfs, 2 pairs mitts, 30 wash clothes. Quite a number of the members are also active in the making of surgical dressings. The new officers for the ensuing year are: President - Mrs. E.W. McKean. Vice Pres - Mrs. C.A. Pyle. Secretary - Mrs. Addie Shumack. Treasurer - Mrs C.E. Cross.
