Marion Iowa Sept 23, 1918 Cary Club held the first meeting of the Club year at the Country house of Mrs. J. J. Ives going to and from the Country in autos. Fourteen members were present and four visitors. Mrs. Inna Pyle and [son - rou?] Mrs. Leslie Phelps and Miss Mary Ives. Retiring Pres Mrs. Blinks called meeting to order. Roll call responded to by "Three Minute Echoes of the War." Minutes of last meeting read and accepted. The Secretary was instructed to buy a new secretary's book and present bill to the club. Mrs. Blinks then presented the gavel to the new President Mrs. McKean who responded in her gracious manner. Mrs. Davis gave her work on the "Cotton Industry" and Mrs. Bailey "Sketch of life of George Matheson." Current Events were given and club adjourned to meet in two weeks with Mrs. Phelps, Mrs Ives treated ladies to a delicious dinner. C. L. Reichert Secretary pro tem
