139 Marion, Iowa Sept 22, 1924 The first meeting of the Cary Club for 1924 - 25 was a picnic luncheon held at Thomas Park Sept 23, to which each member brought two guests. About fifty sat down to a delicious picnic dinner served by Mrs Shumack, L. Phelps, Mintzer & Reichert. The afternoon was spent socially and in enjoying the park and the perfect autumn day Mrs. English came and helped in the selection of a spot for the planting of a "Harding Memorial Tree" If the Cary's decide to plant such a memorial tree this fall Lina Fernow Sec. Sec'ty Report for 1923 - 24. No. of meetings for year - 20. Average attendence - 13 Largest no. present - 18 at opening meeting. Smaller no present - 7 on acct of severe hazard. Attendence. Mrs Brown - 20 meetings. Mrs Bailey - Mrs Shumack - 19 Mrs Mentzer - Mrs Blinks - Mrs Fernow - 18.
