The November meeting of the W.C.T.U. was held at the home of Mrs. E.L. Dieterich Tuesday Nov 18 three o'clock. The devotionals were led by Mrs. German. Scripture reading was from the Fifteenth chapter of Romans and was followed in prayer by Mrs. Hess. Mrs. A.W. Graham then sang very beautifully two songs "I Love a Little Cottage" annd "Keep on Hoping." The business meeting was as follows: The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. A program committee, consisting of Miss Bailey, Mrs. E.M. Kearney and Mrs. Leander Stoaks was appointed. Reports of various standing committes were given. It was moved and seconded that the scientific essay and temperance poster contest be continued in the seventh and eight grade of the public schools. It was moved and seconded that the blotters and literature be purchased the same as last year. The program on "Social Morality" followed. The leader Mrs. Kearney gave some good thots on the subject then brot out the high spots in an article in the congregationalist in which the views of a criminal were given. He urged early training in the home and cooperation of the parents. An interesting discussion followed and a profitable afternoon was brot to a close. Mrs. James McKee Secty. W.C.T.U. Notes The women of the W.C.T.U. gathered at the home of Mrs. E.L. Dieterich, Tuesday afternoon for the November meeting. Mrs. German led the devotionals, scripture reading and prayer. Mrs. A.W. Graham sang very beautifully, two songs: "I Love a Little Cottage" and "Keep on Hoping," both very appropriate to the occasion. At the business meeting reports were given from various standing committees, and it was voted to continue the scientific essay and the Temperance Poster Contest in the 7th and 8th grades of our public schools. Miss Jennie Bailey, Mrs. L. Stoaks and Mrs. Margaret Kearney were appointed on the program committee. The program on "Social Morality" followed. the leader made use of an article in the Congregationalist: "Crime As An Expert Sees It." A young man, Jack Black, who had been in four penitentiaries, had been a dope fiend and an alcoholic addict, was rescued and give his views on the prevention of crime. He urges early training in the home. Cooperation of the parents, whose life job should be the raising of their children. A lively discussion followed and an afternoon, well spent came to a close. Mrs. Christina Lincoln, back to her usual health, presided.
