Feb. 24 at the Congregational Church. The County Institute and the regular meeting of the W. C. T. U. was held. The meeting began at 10:30 o'clock. Mrs. Caldwell had charge of the devotionals which were very helpful and appropriate. A short business session followed. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. It was moved and seconded that we have our market day April 1. Mrs. Fleener reported four new members. Mrs. Baker of Sears [illegible] then gave a reading of "The Gambler." This was well received. A short review of the Hickler-Shaw report was well given by Mrs. E. M. Kearney. After the noontide prayer by Mrs. Baker, a delicious luncheon was served. A good temperance lesson was brought out through the play [illegible] "By Their Words" given by Mrs. W. J. Stewart, Miss Hazel Lincoln + MIss Alice Pearce. The demonstrations of the harmful effects of alcohol and nicotine given by Mrs. Vesta Atkinson's pupils was much appreciated. Mrs. Horace Royce read an original poem. "The Teen Age of Boys and Girls" was ably handled and a paper given by Dr. W. R. Kinzer. The vocal solo by Mrs. C. E. Humphrey was much enjoyed. The Westfield quartette sang a pleasing number. The beautiful bouquet of Calendulias, which, were much admired was presented to Mrs. Lincoln by Mrs. Roy Bates. Local President Mrs. Rob't Lincoln presided throughout the day.
