Mrs. Kearney gave the definition of antidote as "Something to make use of to make effects less terrible". She asked, "What would stop the ravages of war?" And gave the answer, "Peace". She said that one of the antidotes for war was the multitude of essays on Peace written for prizes by the pupils in high schools and colleges all over the world. Another antidote is to use effort at Geneva in 1932. To the charge that the various Peace Conferences already held do not seem to have accomplished much, the answer is made that if it had not been for them, there would be less thinking done on the subject of Peace. Mrs. kearney displayed the new book, "The Road Back", by the author of "All Quiet on the Western Front." and told of the effects on the returned soldiers as individuals. She urged us to write the president that we approve of America declaring herself willing to make even greater reductions in armaments if the other Powers announce themselves willing to make equally greater reductions.
