The W.C.T.U. met Tues. Aug, 23, 1932. A song entitled, "Our Task" was sung, Mrs. Mitchell playing the accompaniment. Mrs. Lena German read the devotionals and Mrs. W. J. Stewart made the prayer. The Secretary's annual Report, including the minutes of the July meeting was read by the President, as the Secretary was absent. Report accepted. Report was as follows: "Subject of Essay Contest 1932: "Would the Drink Habit help me to become a good typist?" We had ten essays written by girls and six by boys. We gave two prizes to the girls and two to boys. Girls, 2nd prize - Janice Connelly $2.00 1st prize - Dorothy Breiting $3.00 Boys, 2nd prize - Robert McDonald $2.00 1st prize - Robert Martinson $3.00 In the Rural Schools: 1st to Lola Foster at No. 8 - $3.00 Miss Burnson Teacher 2nd to Ethel MacPearce at No 9 - $2.00 Miss Howell Teacher 3rd to Cecil Spooner at No 4 $1.00 Miss Burnson Teacher To each rural school we sent from 12 to 16 blotters, also literature was sent to each school. In the Poster Contest we gave 4 places with prizes: $2; $1.50; $1.00 and 50 cents. We had this year 60 posters No. 1 winning 4th prize by Miriam Sherman No. 3 [winning] 3rd prize - Harold Innis No. 42 [winning] 2nd prize - Geo. [Alles] Gray No. 53 [winning] 1st prize - Hershel Weakley. Report of the flower committee was read by Mrs. Hess. June 8th - tied bouquets. Mr & Mrs. Mitchell took flowers to Toledo. They were shown through the home. There were 76 little bouquets given to the orphans. 36 large bouquets were given to the local hospitals and to shut-ins here. 250 calls were reported. Report on the Benedict Home was given. The report on the nominating Committee sent by Mrs. Hamilton was read by Mrs. Stewart. The report was adopted making the following members the officers for the year 1932 - 1933. President - Mrs. Robt. Lincoln Vice President - Mrs. Lena German Secretary - Mrs. George Lincoln Treasurer - Mrs. John C. Lincoln Miss Belle Corraugh mentioned that while on a trip recently she saw many cars with the slogan "Repeal the 18th Amendment" and said
