57 1933 W.C.T.U. met at the home of Mrs B W. Irviivery[?] Feb. 21. Mrs German was in charge in absence of our President who was ill. Devotionals were led by Mrs Wheeler. The first song "Oh Womanhood Arise." Scripture-I Peter verses 5,6,7. Joshua I, (7-9.) Mrs. Wheeler had as her thought the one given by Rabbi Wisis' address "Why keep on caring." She expressed some beautiful thots followed by prayer and closing by song "Bringing in the Sheaves." Secretary's report read and approved. Miss Bailey voiced the thought that people should not accept propaganda of the wets. Report of Poster Committee given. A bill of $1.25 was presented for 6 large and 4 small posters. Bill was allowed. It was planned to exchange posters, when sufficiently used with other Unions. Report of Market Day committee was given by Miss Bailey. It was suggested to get use of window for April 1st. Miss Bailey appointed to attend to matter Miss Bailey read a letter from Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt in reply to her letter to her in regard to the use of liquor and tobacco in White House. She also read a clipping from California Baker[?} relating to man giving up the tobacco habit. Miss Corrough who was to have been speaker was out of town. Her place was capably taken by Mrs Hamilton who read a fine paper on "Citizenship." Little Marilyn Lincoln was taken in to the Society as a helper. Mrs German tied the white ribbon her wrist and told a beautiful missionary story to illustrate that "A little child shall lead them." Meeting was closed by prayer. Jessie Lincoln Sec.
