67 Resume' of Year's work of W.C.T.U. Meetings for the year were held in the following homes: Mrs H. H. Fluner Mrs W. J. Neely, Mrs C. S. George, Mrs W. J. Stewart, Mrs Robt Lincoln Mrs B W. Shivey [?], Mrs G. W. Mitchell, Mrs G. D. Alden, Mrs Ed Bohstedt, Mrs John C. Lincoln All meetings were held as scheduled with the exception of the April meeing which was postponed until May. This was done in order to have Mrs Ada M. Hagler a state worker, speak to us at the Co. Inst. and to make plans for the election of June 20. The most important work of the year was done during the campaign for the dry cause previous to the election. Result of election in Grinnell Showed members toiled untiringly 2000 stickers for cars bearing the inscription "Keep and Embrace Prohibition" were ordered and distributed. A cut of a white ribbon bow to be used in newspapers and on the yearly programs was ordered. Posters to be used in store windows were purchased. A subscription to the Union Signal was donated by the organization to the City Library. Mrs Ida B. Wise Smith, Mrs Pemberton and Miss Ada M. Hagler were out town speakers during the year. Petitions urging our Legislators to vote for the dry cause were signed. Essay and Poster contests were sponsored. Prizes: Betty Boyack 1st-$3.00 Harriett Clayberg 2nd 2.00 Loren [?] York 1st 3.00 Phillip Bridgham 2.00 Post prizes: Wilma Shallaw[?]. 1st 2.00 Edith Stark 2nd 1.50 Caroline Nuckoll 3rd 1.00 Jack Trusdale .50 Rural 1st Frances Jean Pilgrim #8 2nd Robert Lincoln #7 [?]
