Officially September is the First Month of the W.C.T.U. year -September 1935- Sept. 17, 1935, the meeting was held with Miss Ada Park. There were ten present. Mrs. Stewart led the devotions, reading from the 46th psalm. There was a reason of prayer, led by Mrs. Gregson. The July minutes were read and approved. The August minutes were read and approved. The sum of $1.50 was paid to Mrs. Hess for a funeral bouquet for the funeral of Mr. Leander Stokes. Mrs. Butler announced that the free-will offering at the aftermath was $14.21. Judge Summers to have $12.00. Also half of the rest which left ($1.21) one dollar and twenty one cents. Ovur $1.21 was given to Miss Butler, from which to pay the electric light bill for the lighting of the Methodist church the night of the aftermath. Mrs. Hess announced that in former years the annual meeting in January was conducted by the honorary members. The Secy. read letter about the state convention to be held Oct. 22-25, Tue. to Fri. at Waterloo. Miss Butler was elected first delegate. Mrs.. Watland was elected delegate. Mrs. Richards, one of our most faithful delegates, is reported in the hospital suffering from burns. Miss Bailey made a motion that the Griunell Union and the County Union go 1/2 and 1/2 on the expense of getting a speaker to explain the Syllabus at the meeting of school teachers of the county to be held in Griunell in Oct. carried We voted that Miss Bailey write a letter to a member of the school board regarding our
