October 1936 Ten members and two guests gathered at the home of Mrs. George Mitchell, the 20 th of October. As no president had been elected, the motion was made and carried that Mrs. Hodley preside. [illegible] were read by Ada Park. Minutes of former meetings were read and approved. Reports of committees were called for. For the program com, Miss Park reported that a good deal of the program was definitely planned and that the com intended to have the programs printed. Mrs. Robert Lincoln, giving the treasurers report said we had $27.43. This included dime card money. A dime card was rent to this meeting by "[Edna Sherman]" with $1.40 The old ruling of the dime cards was that one dollar goes to the state, and 30c to the local, of every $1.30. we decided that, according to the July minutes, all the money of the dime cards goes to state. We decided to ask Mrs. Neeley to let us have the July picnic at her home. Mrs. Gregson asked if the local union expected to "[fund]" a delegate to the state convention at Sioux City. Miss Bailey suggested Miss Nelly Lincoln. "[Motion]" was made by Miss Park, and recorded by Mrs. Robert Lincoln, that we elect Nelly. We did. Mrs. Robert Lincoln telephoned, and reported to us that Nelly said "no". It came to our notice that since six dollars of dime - card money must go to the state, there would be ($27.43 - $6.00 = $21.43) only $21.43 on hand for us. Motion was made by Miss Parks, and recorded, that if Mrs. Gregson goes to Sioux City for the county union, that the local union pay 1/4 of the expences carried. Moved by Miss Park and recorded by Mrs. Robert Lincoln, that Mrs. Gregson act as temporary chairman, while we elect Mrs. Hadley our president carried. Moved by Miss Park and recorded by Mrs. Alexander, that Mrs. Carrie Butler Hadley be our president. Carried. Mrs Hadley is elected our pres. for 1936-37. The Grinnell Union presented Mrs. Hadley with a very large bouquet
