149 July 1937. Aug. 1937. The W.C.T.U. met July 20, 1937 with Ada Park for the annual pot-luck picnic which had been scheduled to be held at the home of Mrs. Walter Neely, but which had been postponed, or rather, the place changed, because illness in Mrs. Neelys family made it impossible. Minutes were read and approved. Mrs. Gregson said she had a card from Miss Aldrich at the Washington Convention. Also that a luncheon had been held at Yoners' Tea Room for delegates from the convention. That Bishop Hughes' address that he made when he represented all the churches at the Washington Convention is in the Union Signal. Mrs. Hamilton, Mrs. George Lincoln and Miss Sherman were appointed nominating committee. Sixteen were present. Collection 70 c. The W.C.T.U. met August 17, 1937 with Miss Brownell and Mrs. Lord. Minutes for July read and approved. Ms. R. Lincoln reported she had sent $51.35. This year 59 paid-up members. Last year 55. On the receipt was written "Congratulations-a fruitful union"; because all that paid last year paid this year. Clora McRobberts is the new member added this year. $5 00 for Peace Prizes. Edna Sherman, lit. chm. reported that she distributed 20 old Union Signals and 4 Crusaders. She thinks we have 8 old subscribers to Union Signal and 2 new. Mrs. Hess reported she had distributed 120 pieces of literature and made 300 calls, and given 60 small bouquets and 30 large. voted to pay Mrs. Hadley's expenses as first delegate. collection 75 c Adjournment.
