one newspaper clipping on top left side of page extending half way down the page 155 June 1938. July 1938. June 21-1938 the W.C.T.U. met with Mrs. Germann and Mrs. Hess. Mrs. Robert Lincoln reported that we had voted $5 00 for Temperance posters to put in Grant township along Highway #6. She had no report of bill for flowers. Neither had Mrs. Hess. Mrs. Hess presented a bill for ribbon for text cards. 2 spools of ribbon $2 95 Some can be used next year. Cards 30c so the bill was $2 85. But Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell took the bouquets to Toledo, so there was no expense to get the bouquets there, 125 small bouquets. There were 30 large bouquets with cards for the shut-ins in Grinnell. There are 300 children in the orphans home in Toledo. In every bouquet Something sweet Something white Something bright. A bill of 56c for eats on a former[?] occasion was paid. Collection $1 00. "My heart is fixed O God-My heart is fixed. I will praise thee." Mrs. Willis Evans played "Berceuse" by Jocelyn, a piano solo. Nellie Lincoln read an Edgar Guest peom, The Painter. Charles Lord played a horn solo, the Spring Song-acc. by Mrs. Evans. Also played "The Old Rugged Cross" twice. at the second playing the group sang. Voted that the pres. appoint nom. com. Mrs. Hadley announced that it was almost time for Nat. Conv. at San Francisco. Told about nation-wide planting of Frances Willard peonies, large, white. coll $2 87. adj. Potluck picnic. Ada Park Secy.
