186 Nov. 1941.] Nov. 18, 1941-the W.C.T.U. met with Mrs. W. J. Stewart. Mrs. Hamilton read the devotions. Edna Sherman reported that she took the book, "The Amazing Story of Repeal" to the Library. The secretary read a letter Prof. E.B.T. Spencer, saying, in part, "We are heart and soul in sympathy with the good work in which you are so deeply and actively interested." He wrote from 211 West Underwood St., Chevy Chase, Md. Oct. 16, 1941. Mrs. Emma Parmenter of Gilman reported on the State convention held Oct. 7-10 at Storm Lake. Every member of W.C.T.U. must bring in a new and younger member, and consider her your pal. 72 countries have W.C.T.U. In 37 seconds, beer would set a new drinker mopey. The temperance movement is gaining in membership and gaining in power. 25000 new members in the nation. 431000 hospitals crowded with drinkers.What is wanted at Benedict House: Woven rugs 27x54.. Do not send sheets. Send money. They can buy at wholesale National convention in 1943 will be in Des Moines. Recommendation was made at the convention that for two years we send 25c per member to help pay for the National Convention. Recommended by State pres. Ada Park.
