May 1943. June, 1943. July 1943. Aug. 1943. The Mother's Day meeting for service men was held according to schedule, in the Methodist church, and was well attended. JUNE - the June meeting was held June 15, with Mrs. Murray. A report was given on Ohio Temperance Education. The story of Flower Mission Day was read. Methodist Women dedicated a church window to Miss Willard. Mrs. Loose led in prayer before the business meeting. Mrs. McBlain made a motion to give $ 10.00 to the Educational Fund. Seconded and carried.Motion was made and passed to send The Young Crusader to the children who took part in the temperance exercise at the Mothers' Day Service. It was carried. Collection was $1.41. Motion made and carried that this collection money be used in paying for the 4 subscriptions. Voted that we give $5.00 to Safety School on Wheels. Edna Sherman, Secy. [protem?]. Aug: The W.C.T.U. met Aug. 1943 at the U.P. Church. Voted to distribute literature at the 4H fair, the 1st day being Aug. 24th, at the stock pavilion, the boys. Girls at Bluebird. Leaflets can be had from Des Moines @ 30 cents per 100. Maybe get 400. Voted that Miss Sherman get the leaflets and see to having them distributed, and pay a boy 50 cents to distribute them. Voted to have a program com. Elected to have Nellie appoint com. She appointed Ada Park, Edna Sherman, Mrs. McBlaine. Ada Park - Sec. May. 1943 - addenda: Rev. Evans told about hearing (in Richmond, Indiana) Howard Hamlin, assistant Educational director who is doing wonders to make Ohio dry. Has a method far superior to Bertha Palener's. When he was dismissed by wets, 2000 telegrams came in 10 min. He was re-instaled. Can we get this work started in Iowa?
