238 August 1946 The program scheduled to be be held on the regular third Tuesday of the month was not held, due to the absence from town of several members. One week later, August 27, a postponed meeting was held at the Methodist Church, but as not enough members were present for a quorum, no business could be transacted. Devotions were led by Mrs. McCargar. The business meeting was presided over by Mrs. Jackson. The minutes of the July meeting were read, considered, and finally accepted. Mrs. McCargar said we are thankful that we have a standing invitation to have a speaker speak in the high school when one can come. Report of the nominating committee was read by the chairman, who moved its adoption. There was no second. The nominee for president refused its nomination. The nominee for the first vice presidency refused its nomination her nomination. The report of the nominating committee was not accepted, due to not having a quorum besides other difficulties but the committee was held over. Adjourned. Ada Park, Secy. W.C.T.U.
