270 March 1949 April 1949 Nineteen were present at the March meeting. As the March meeting is considered a meeting to honor the honorary members, Mrs. Whitely waived the usual rule of no eats and served cookies and a fruit juice drink at the close of the meeting. Mar. 15. Mrs. McBlain told us that the WCTU has gained 53000 new members this year. The WCTU is the largest inter denominational organization in the world. Rev. Stewart read from St. Marls. He said the church is to come into for prayer. Mrs. Stwart presented the program. She asked Mr. George C Ruaud to speak on the topic, "should the church promote gambling". She asked Rev. Whitely to speak on "Drink and cocktail in the home" . She asked Re. Barton to talk on "The Ballot", and Mrs. Mauson to talk on "gambling". Minutes of the February meeting were read. Mrs. McBalin talked about a petition to have local option. Mr. Geroge C Reaud joined, and paind $1.00 and signe the pledge. Dollar dues were paid by Mr. Mauson, Rev. Sleuart and Mrs. Sleuvart. Mae Fleener, 906 Pearl St. April 19, 1949 The WCTU met with Mrs. Mrs. Mae Fleener. Mrs. McBlain presided. The topic was, "Train Future Leaders". The devotional leader was Mrs. Lela Adaus. Mrs. Bartow who was selected to server as program leader was unable to attend. The material assembled for she program was posed and to several members who presented she readings. Two new members were added to our membership, Mrs. R.E. Pepoon, 416-4th ave. Who brings her membership from South Dakota, and Mrs. Haluorson, (she alludes the courage atonal church), a caisson of our Mrs. Iana Watland. Adjourned - Ada Park, Secy. by remote report
