June 21 - 1949 - (continued). July, 1949. August 1949. It was moved, seconded and carried that 400 post cards be purchased and printed and sent out each month to some of the members to remind them of the meeting. A nominating committee was named as follows: Mrs. Donald Skiles, Mrs. John Bartow, Mrs. Myra Renaud. It was hoped to get an offering of $75.00 for the Jubilee Offering. Miss Nellie Lincoln was appointed to look after procuring a book rack to place in the station. The secretary having left early, the later minutes were written by another member. Mrs. John R. Bartow, Secy pro tem Min. approved at the Sept. Mtg. July 1949 The July meeting was held July 19, 1949 at Merrill Park. The entertainment consisted of recitations by members of the LTL, speeches which had been delivered in speech contests in LTL. A picnic was held. No minutes of meeting taken. Ada Park. August 16, 1949, the WCTU met at the home of Mrs. George C. Renaud. Mrs. Eva Renfrow had charge of the devotions. Mrs. McClain gave a splendid report of a lecture given at Bay View Village, Michigan, by Mrs. D. Leigh Colvin, the National WCTU president. Mrs. Allen, superintendent of the LTL reported that she had had 50 children in attendance at the meetings throughout the year but only 19 had paid dues. Mrs. McBlain reported that 21 young people had signed the YTC pledge but only 11 had paid dues. There was a concern to find a counsellor for the YTC. The offering amounting to $1.00 was taken at this time. Nellie Lincoln reported that there are now 66 members, there being [clipping] * * * The W.C.T.U. will meet on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. George C. Renaud, 931 Elm St. * * * [end clipping]
