Aug. 1949 (continued) fifteen new members, 14 ladies and one honorary member joining this year. Three members have passed away, Mrs. Aldace Child, Mrs. John Evans, and Mrs. Florence Adah Williams. This constitutes a net gain of 12. The treasurer also reported that $34.00 had been turned in by individuals for the Jubilee Fund; that there had been an offering of $20.55 received at the Jubilee meeting at the Northside Friends Church. A motion was made, seconded and carried that the treasurer supplement the above offerings to the amount of $75.00 from the treasury and send it to the proper place. The report of the nominating committee was accepted. The place of the president was not filled. The others were filled. Mrs. J. P. Bartow, secretary pro tem. Minutes read and approved at the September meeting. [clipping] Robert E. Lincoln Dies At Advanced Age Of 88 Years Robert E. Lincoln, Grinnell patriarch and a resident of this community at 525 Main sreet for a great many years passed away Wednesday afternoon in a local hospital, where he had been a patient for only a few days. He had reached the advanced age of 88 years. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Friends church in charge of Rev. C. O. Whitely. [end clipping] Honorary member WCTU.
