1950 August Meeting Aug 15 The WCTU was held at the home of Mrs Emma Fischer, with 23 present following the funeral service of Ada C. Park at the Congregational Church. Miss Park had been a WCTU Secretary for many years and a very faithful worker. She was strangled to death in a Pullman train in a berth enroute home from a long trip to Arizona & California by a drunken man Howard Lantz. Great sadness prevaled the meeting because of the untimely and terrible death of a beloved member. The President Mrs McBlain opened the meeting with the Doxology and prayer. She also gave a report on an all day WCTU workshop meeting in Bay View Mich which she attended while vacationing. The Mich.
