294 1950 October Meeting Oct 16 The WCTU was held at The First Friends Church. A Basket super was served and was followed by a business meeting in charge of Mr McBlain. Mrs McBlain reported that 5 packages had been sent to Japan. Also that Ada Parks name had been placed on the National Memorial wall, By the State WCTU. Motion was made and carried that Mrs Pepoon become our Secretary and Mrs Stanley President. It was approved that the Union Signal be sent to Mrs Stanley and Mrs Allen and the City Library and The Y Crusader to Mrs Allen and the City Library. A motion was made and carried that Mrs Stanley, Mrs McBlain, Allen and Skyler be sent as delegates to the State Commition to be held at Newton Iowa Oct 17 to 19th. Some pledges were made for donation on the water fountain in Memory of Ada Park amounting to $35.00. A motion was made ans carried that the percentage on the package sent to Japan be allowed. Nellie Lincoln treasurer was authorised to do so. A Thank offering of $5.oo was voted for the state work. Credentials were given to Mrs Allen and Mrs McBlain for the State Commition. Adjourned to the Auditorium for the program In which the WRR's LTL's, Y TCs and the Malcom WCTU had charge of the program. Mrs McBlain Spoke on "The School Their Forget" from the study book and flim "Liquid [Liars?]". Closed a profitable service. The following new members reported as having signed the pledge and paid dues for the year, Mrs F. W. Bleak Mrs Claude Naylor Mrs J E Gross, Mrs [Harvey?] Mikel Mrs Maxine Clark Mrs Clifford Gerard Mrs B reed Thompson Rev McBlain gave the closing prayer
