Sept 19 1951. W.C.T.U. meet at the home of Mrs. Harlan Summan? with 12 members present. I am [illegible]. In the absence of the President Mrs Stanley the Vice President presided. Mrs. McBlain opened the meeting by having the members sing America. Mrs. McBlain led us in prayer. Scripture reading was Mathew(sic) 27-24 to the end of the chapter there for the new year let us rise up and build for total abstinence through the school- Sang Standing Lay ally Secretary read and approved Nettei Baley presented the W.C.T.U. with a book on the life of Francis J Willard. A motion made & carried to send Nettei Baley a thank you card for her contribution to our library shelf. A motion carried-that material for the year Book be allowed. The yearly treasurers report was read and accepted as read. Bal. on hand Sept 1 1950- $36.53 Total receipts $372.20 Total disbursements Sept 1 1951 132.87 Leaving a Bal. of 239.33 which includes a memorial fund of (203.00) for Ada Parks WCTU Bal 39.33 Nellie Lincoln reported on the thank offering Motion made & 2nd we send $10.00 to the thank offering, a motion made to make Mrs. Rapperty (Kathleen) a Life Patron Mrs Rapperty offered prayer. Mrs McBlain reported on the Memorial Foundation for Ada Parks stating the name plate ordered had been held up by the Government and didn't know what means would be made to secure another plaque or plate. Sang [illegible] then our by one October meeting will be [illegible] nice in the absence of Mrs Skyler Mrs Hagenback had charge of the lesson. Her scripture reading was Proverbs 25-1 & 32-12-32 Her [illegible] what liquer has done to History by Generals and leaders becoming intoxicated before battles and not being Victorious. 12 members present and one [illegible] collection 1.40 closed with benediction.
