1954 Aug 17 WCTU meet [sic] at the home of Mrs J S Alexander With 10 members present Mrs. Sevenberger had charge of Devotionals She read Scriptuers. [sic] Acts 17:24-27, Luke 6:31 13:20 And Mathew [sic] 25:40 "Not Where we live But How." Mrs. Whitley concluded with prayer. Secretary report read and corrected Then approved Treasure reported 35.40 Nellie Linclon [sic] requested a report on The number of letters the sent in On The Bryson Bill Mrs Cosand gave a report on the float to be used in The Centenial [sic] parade Mrs Skiles was instructed to purchase materials to decorate the float. Mrs Geo Renaud gave the lesson from The Union Signal and Champion. An article On Advertising On Every Hi Way also On Delinquent parents. Mrs Whitly [sic] I would be True A clever little poem On Smoking She also reported Mahaskia had sent in 80 new members. A motion By Pepoon and 2nd By Mrs Skiles The Treasurer Nellis Linclon [sic] Order 800 blotters to be given away In The Centenial [sic] prade [sic] from the W.C.T.U. float. Mrs. Renaud closed with a prayer Meeting adjourned with The WCU Benediction. Eva M Pepoon Secretary Sept 21 WCTU meet [sic] at The home of Mrs. Harlan Inman with 15 members & one guest present The President Mrs McBlain called the meeting to order. Meeting opened by singing The Old Rugged Cross followed by Scriptuer [sic] reading of Proverbs 3 chapter 13-16 verse. By Mrs Ewing who also led us in prayer The members repeated in unison The pledges to The American Christian & Temperance Flags. Also The Temperance Pledge Mrs Eva Renfrau gave the lesson. Eva Pepoon gave an article on Truth on Alcohol. Mrs [Factor?] gave one Phylosiphy [sic] of Teachers using 5 phases of Alcohol. Mrs Sanders reviewed the Champion. Mrs Renfrau gave the 10 Commandments abstaining from Alcohol. Mrs McBlain gave an account of the training School She attended at Bay View Mich. See report of the previous meeting was omitted. A Thank you responce [sic] was tindered [sic] The Centenial [sic] Committee for time and efforts in preparing Our WCTU float Sectery [sic] was instructed to send Roberta Marty a thank you card for assisting with the float Treasuer [sic] reported 17.95 spent
