1957 Feb 19 continued. fund - A motion by Mrs Pepoon 2nd by Mrs McBlain that our treasurer send our State Treasurer - the sum of $14.45 - proceeds from an auction sale. Malcom W.C.T.U. extended us an invitation to the W.C.T.U. Institute Mar 12 - and asked us to take part in the program - The treasurer pd $7.18 for flowers for Murray and Mrs. Jones funerals. Arrangements were made for the March Honorary Meeting. Meeting closed with prayer by Mrs. Rev. Whitely - Mrs. Eva Pepoon (acting sec). Notes In passing, the W.C.T.U. lost two good, loyal members by death - Mrs. Murray and Mrs. A. C. Jones - 1957 Mar. 19 "Honorary Meeting" Due to conflicting engagements, illness etc - only a small group enjoyed the "get together" in honor of male members - Rev. A. W. McBlain was principal speaker - refreshments of fruit juices and cookies were served. Apr 16 The W.C.T.U. met with Mrs. J. E. Foster at 1126 Elm St - there were eleven members and one guest present. The Worship Theme "Guiding the Children" - Mrs. Adams had devotions, reading the scripture from Matthew 18c-1-6 and 19c 13 to 15 - closing by sentence prayer - following devotions Mrs. Mikle had charge of business meeting and salute to flags. A motion to change time of meeting to 2.30 pm after June 1st; a motion to help on "Youth Temperance Program" was carried - Mrs. Mikle to get in touch with Mrs. St. Clair in regard to materials; regular program in charge of Mrs. Hagenlock followed. Miss Kiester spoke on "Things Young People can do" Mrs. Sevenberger "A letter to Future Generations" - followed by an "Alcohol Quiz" by Mrs. Hagenlock. Mrs Mikle closed by reading excerpts from Study Book - Adjournment - Grace L. Foster Sec. Note - Mrs. Mikle had returned from a pleasant winter at Mesa, Arizona - happy to have her back. G.L.F
