July Meeting was not held "(Vacation Month"). "The August Meeting" of the W.C.T.U. was held at the home of Mrs. Harvey Mikel on Aug 19 '58 - with a good attendance Mrs. Mikel in charge of devotions, salute to flags. business meeting and treasurer's report followed outstanding bills paid and minutes of last meeting read and approved. A card from Mrs. Ewing, who was on Vacation was read we have four "Rock of Ages members - Our new president Mrs. Chas. Adams was then installed the other officers held over. Program followed with Mrs. Cosand as leader - who read a poem "Who so ever"? then by illustrating the "Power of Prayer" read to us of an incident at the time of the Jamestown Flood in 1889. A discussion followed the topic. "What is Alcohol"? several read or told of experiences they knew. Our president then presented Mrs. Casand and Mrs Whitely with going away gifts as an appreciation of their interest and help on W.C.T.U - they are both leaving for new pastoral duties we will miss them. The ladies very graciously responded. Adjournment Grace L. Foster, Sec Sept 16 '38 The regular monthly W.C.T.U Meeting was held at the home of our new president Mrs. Chas. Adams with Mrs. Adams in charge. Devotions led by Mrs. Gertrude Ewing, with prayer by Mrs. McBlain roll call followed there were fourteen members and two guests present who joined later - Mrs. Doris Norman and Mrs. Bessie Allen. Minutes of last meeting read and approved. Our treasurer, Miss Nellie Lincoln report $24.29 in treasury, several paid dues and old bills allowed, and more program books were to be ordered. Discussion about the Study Book for Year - Mrs. Hagenloch was program leader Subject - "Alcohol and the Juvenile" Mrs. Peppoon and others assisted with articles that were read.
