(2 newspaper clippings) W,C,T,U. will meet with Mrs. Lela Adams, 625 Spring St., Friday afternoon, Feb. 19, at 2:00 W.C.T.U. Meets With Mrs. Adams The Women's Christian Temperance Union held their February meeting on Friday in the home of Mrs. Lela Adams. The hostess led the devotions using Romans 12 and I Cor. 12. The president read a letter from the Malcom Union extending an invitation to the Grinnell Union to attend a W.C.T.U. Institute to be held at Malcom on March 8. Mrs. Laura Hagenlock had charge of the program giving an interesting lesson on the life of Frances Willard whose birthday is being celebrated this month by Union's over the United States. During the meeting, some plans were made concerning an honorary members meeting in March. Feb 19, 1960 W.C.T.U. met Feb 18, 1960 at the home of Lela Adams. In the absence of Mrs. Rose Walker, Lela Adams had devotions using Romans 12 and 1st Corinthians 12. Treasurers report was given A note of thanks from Mrs Foster was read thanking the Union for the card sent her The President read a letter from the Malcom Union inviting our Union to their W.C.T.U Institute being held Mar 8, at Malcom She also read a copy of the letter sent to the Art Teacher of the Grinnell schools regarding the Posters being submitted by the 6th, 7th and 8th grades for the Poster contest to be held at the Malcom Institute on Mar. 8. Mrs. Allen reported the book "Three Young Americans in Action" had been chosen as a prize in the Poster context to be given by the Grinnell Union. She suggested we might aso give a dollar to each of the three prize winners, one from each grade. Discussion followed motion made and seconded we give the book, and a dollar to the three prize winners. Motion carried. The President read a letter relative to the W.C.T.U. having a booth at the 4 H Fair. Suggestion made we continue further investigation into the matter. The Pres announced if we hold our Honorary Members meeting in Mar and the tea in April we will miss out on two regular meetings, and asked what is the wish of the meeting. No action was taken. Mr and Mrs Epler were put in charge of the Program for the for the Honorary members mtg Lela Adams, Nellie Lincoln and Minnie Mattingly were appointed by the Pres as a committee to care for the refreshments for the Honorary members mtg. Mrs Hagenlock had charge of the program, and gave us an interesting lesson on the life of Frances Willard. Lela Adams also read a number of sayings by famous men. Meeting closed with the Benediction Nellie Lincoln Secy Pro Tem
