352 WCTU Holds March Meeting With 19 attending, Mrs. George German was hostess last Tuesday evening to the Women's Christian Temperance Union. Honorary members were in charge of the program, with Rev. Stephen Epler serving as director. A prayer was offered by Rev. Ralph Houghton, followed by Scripture reading from Proverbs and First Corinthians, by Claude Thompson, Rev. Epler then gave interesting statistics and illustrations concerning temperance. Mrs. German presented several enlightening facts regarding retarded children. Closing prayer was given by Rev. Kenneth Pohlenz. The hostess served light refreshments. W.C.T.U. met Apr12, 1960 with Mrs Howard Sage 13 members and one guest present. Mrs Sevenbergen had the devotions using the Easter Scripture from Matt 28 1-10 Eloise Kiester was program Leader Topic Youth Skyway. Nellie Lincoln read the Teen Commandments for youth. Rachel Mikel read an article on cigarette smoking. Eloise gave a history of the LTL. listing some of the pro facts carried out by L.T.L. members as Goats for Japan, Seeds for the Phillipinnes, Kits for Chinese Children in Hong Kong. She also gave an interesting review of the life of Anna Gordon. The Treasurer reported on the plant purchased for the funeral of Mrs Alexander. Some discussion held as to whether a stated amount be set for funerals or if it should be left to the discretion of the Treasurer. It was voted to be left to the Treasurer. Motion made, seconded and carried the bill of 4.08 be allowed. The Union voted to subscribe for the Union Signal for Mrs Pepoon, our Legislative Dept head. Mrs Headland spoke of her plans for christian Education in the S.S. The union approved that Mrs Epler gave a report on the Posters. a letter to the Pres regarding the Divide to multiply conference program was read by the acting Secy. The union voted to pay the $2.00 fee. The matter of our Guest Day was brought up for discussion. Decided to drop the matter for the present. No Word has been received regarding a booth at the 4H Fair. A letter from John Kyl to the Fosters was read It was approved a note of thanks be sent the Malcom union for the prize money given for the Posters. Meeting closed with Benediction Nellie Lincoln Acting Secy.
