361 The WCTU met at the home of Nellie & Kayd Lincoln on July 18, 1961. Meeting called to order by president Eloise Kiester. Devotions led by Lela Adams song "My Country Tis of Thee was used as opening, scripture was from Rom 13:1-13 and some tho'ts read from the 'Union Signal' - [pres?] observed the spirit of the law thru love. Closed by prayer. Program lesson was reviewed from booklet "What alcohol Is and What it Does" by Eloise. Minutes were read and approved. Mrs Headland sends her greetings to the meeting, she isn't well. Nom-Comm reports was read and accepted. Pres: Eloise Kiester Vice Pres: Mrs Claude Thompson Sect'y: Mrs Harvey Mikel Treas: Nellie Lincoln Officers to meet next week to make plans for next year. Iva Saville went over to St Francis to call on both Mrs. Sevenberger and Mrs Olsen. they sent their greetings to the meeting. Get well cards were signed by group to be send to Mrs Olsen, Mrs Sevenberger, Mrs Headland and Mrs Hagenlock, and Mrs Reedy. These articles were read "Bottled Disease" "You Don't Have to Drink" and "Action is the Answer." Next meeting is to be at Sybil Renauds. A lovely picnic lunch was enjoyed, after the silent auction. Mrs Sage & Mrs Mikel was asked to be charge of the auction. Collection was: - 6.10 Silent Auction: -$6.10 Eloise Kiester. Pres. Mrs Harvey Mikel, Secty The WCTU met with Sybil Renaud on Aug 15, 1961. The President called the meeting to order and we sang "Some Glad Day" followed by salutes to the flags, followed by a prayer. Bessie Allee led the devotions - she led in singing "He Leadeth Me" Scripture was from Isa 40:28-31 - followed by prayer. a reading from the "Union Signal" was used on the proper way to conduct ourselves on a vacation. Minutes were read & approved No old business New Business - Iva to have Sept. meeting on Sept 26th as the State Convention at Pella, Ia is 18-19-20 - conflicting with the regular meeting day. Motion was made & approved we meet on Sept 26th
