Friends: United Presbyterian: Methodist: 1st Friends and Assembly of God. Instulation of officers was conducted by Mrs Epler. Lesson for day was led by Beulah Ratcliff - some thots brought out - we think of God when out doors at a picnic with family & friends. Teach a child is isn't necessary to serve strong drinks, but serve fruit drinks. It's necessary to pray each day. We sang "Sweet Hours of Prayer" "Why Alcohol Education" from study book was given by Mrs Mikel. Mrs Allen told about "Life Short & Horrible" againt the danger of narcotics - a person can be 'hooked' in just a couple of weeks - then they'll do any thing to get it - steal & even kill to get the price of a 'fix' Mrs. Headland sang a solo "Sweeter Than Them All" 12 members were present. Collection - Closed with the benediction. Pres. Eloise Kiester Sect'y Rachel Mikel The WCTU met with Iva Saville on Sept 20, 1961. Mrs Thompson presided in absents of Eloise Kiester the president. The meeting was opened with the salutes to the flags. The minutes were read and approved. The Treasurer reports - Balance on hand $22.35 Several paid their dues Collecion was - - - A bill of 4.50 was allowed Mrs Epler reported she called on Miss Tone and gave her material on the posters. No old business: New Business - What to do about Family Night, is we don't know for sure if the President will be home by then? Comm. of two Mrs Epler & Nellie Lincoln were appointed to see about a place for the meeting. Mrs Allen & Mrs Thompson will see about the program. For one thing reports of State Convention will be given. The devotions were led by Mrs. E. Pepoon, Neh. 3:11-15 4:6 was read. She also give comments on drinking among college students only 6 out of 46 don't drink. Prayer closed the devotions
