364 The W.C.T.U. met Dec 19 with Eloise Kiester. 8 members and 1 guest present. Edythe Lynch had the Devotions using Psalm 118. Lela Adams led in prayer. All Joined in singing the Crusade Hymn and the Hymn "Some Glad day. Mrs Claude Thompson read the story from the crusade in Hillsdale, Ohio (1873) Duety - Redeemer Divine by Bessie Allen, and Lela Adams. Eloise reviewed an article from the Pamphlet "Spiritually speaking - what about wine" by Mrs W.S. Watson Natl Pres - Canadian W.C.T.U. Minutes of last meeting were read and approved. Also Treasurer report. It was reported Mrs Headland has been quite ill, also Mrs McBlain has not been well cards have been send to our shut-ins. Prayer by Eloise closed meeting Nellie Lincoln Secy Pro Tem Refreshments were served following the meeting 1962 The W.C.T.U met Jan 16 with Mrs Rayford Ratecliff with 9 members and 2 guests present. Mrs Eva Reedy led the devotions. Theme Never lower the Flag using the Scripture from Acts 4. She stressed the thought "Our Security is in Christ" The hymns Back to God, America, and Some Glad Day were sung. Following the salute to the flags Mrs Kenneth Headland gave the program conducting a quiz on the congress, also how to contact a Legislator, we should write short concise letters to our President, our Senators and Representatives concluding them by questions which they feel they have to answer, as letters are a major factors in securing what we want of congress. We should register our opinion. Under Christian citizenship she stressed the fact we should register christian opinion. we should be interested in new Americans, Youth care. Take young people on our hearts to help them with their problems. She mentioned the book "Todays Decision", also a new film "Behind the Skyscrapers. Christianity today - alcoholism cause and cure. Not a disease. Use the Bible as proof Minutes of last meeting were read and approved. Treasurer's report given. The President mentioned The Sunday School Packets which may be obtained from Miss Fuda Dittmer Suggest made the secy send in the names of those S.S. Supts, and Jr Supts or those on Temp Com, or intended workers in our S.S.'s to Miss Dittmer that our S.S's may obtain these helps.
