373 The W.C.T.U. met on Feb. 19, at the home of Agnes Sage. Meeting was opened by Pres. Eloise Keister who led the group in flag salutes. Mrs. McBlain had the devotions. Assisting her was Eva Pepoon who read the scripture from 1 Cor. 3:9-23, the subject being - "All Belong to you, If -" Mrs. McBlain stressed the fact that we are laborers with God, builders, temples of God; need of persistence in the use of good things in the right way, and doing what good we can. She asked for sentence prayers to conclude the devotions. Mrs. Allen presented the program on the subject - "Dimensions in Power." She referred to the Union Signal article "Organization Brings Strength" as the fulfillment of the plans of Frances Willard, known as the Master Organizer; the increase of power in our organization by enlisting every member of the family in dedication to our cause, and by use of the power of speech in spreading the truth concerning destruction of the human body through use of alcoholic beverages; the origin and use of the fund known as the Frances Willard Memorial Fund; and a review of the pamphlet - "Abraham Lincoln and Temperance." Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The treasurer reported a balance of $21.67 with three members not yet having paid their dues. Those reporting letters send to legislators were a total of 10 letters, and 28 calls made on shut-ins. Mrs. Pepoon, reporting for the Legislative Dept., read an article - "What is a Lobbyist?" and gave a review of the 10 women who are now serving in the present houses of the Legislative, and other interesting facts concerning those in this work. Plans for our part in the Malcom Institute were mentioned. The Social Service committee reported on plans at hand, and $3.00 was allowed for their projects. Used greeting cards and spectacles were received for current projects. The meeting adjourned with prayer by Mrs. Epler. Mrs. Ralph Allen, Sec'y The W.C.T.U. met on March 19 at the home of Mrs. Chas. Taylor. Eloise Keister, president, opened the meeting by directing the flag salutes. Mrs. Claude Thompson, program leader, presented an interesting tract called - "Open Letter to Bill the Bartender," showing the other side of the picture as an answer to the bartender who asked, "What'll you Have?" She reviewed an article from the Union Signal - "Knowledge Increaseth Strength."
