376 W.C.T.U. met June 18, 1963 at the home of Lela Adams. This was meeting set aside to honor the honorary members of the union. No business meeting was held. Serving as the social committee in charge of this meeting were Nellie Lincoln and Mrs. Epler. The W.C.T.U, met with Nellie Lincoln on July 16, president Eloise Keister presiding. After the opening song, "This is My Father's World", we joined in the pledges to the flags. Devotions were given by Agnes Sage. She used the subject - "Malice toward None", reading the scriptures suggested in the program guide, and closing with prayer. Mrs. Pepoon had charge of the program with the subject - "Dimension in Public Affairs." She read from the Union Signal an article concerning our "National Organization", stressing the need of christian support and the use of Christian principles in governmental affairs. Another article - "What Kind of Patriotism?" was presented as well as information on parliamentary procedure during our election of officers of W.C.T.U., and other articles of information concerning W.C.T.U. activity. We heard the story of Marty Mann, now an executive in the National Council on Alcoholism, having recovered from alcoholism and now serving others in the education of other alcoholics. Minutes of the May meeting were read and approved. Reported were two letters from legislators, 23 calls on sicks and shut-ins. The Treasurer reported a balance of $38.25. The rest of the budget dollars were allowed by vote of those present. In the report of the legislative department, Mrs. Pepoon defined a statesman, stated amounts of the national expenditures, and noted some individual accomplishments of legislators.
