391 The W.C.T.U. met Aug 17 at the home of Mildred Jones, 8 members and 1 guest in attendance. Following pledges to the flags. Nellie Lincoln led the devotions. The theme was "Lament and Resolve." Scriptures used were Lamentations 3:40,41 and 1 Cor. 8:13. Rache Mikkel presented an article - "Scripturally Speaking, what about Wine?; using various scriptures to proved fermented wine was not used. Minutes of July meeting were read and approved. It was voted to send $5.00 on our budget dollars. Mable Morgan also contributed $1.00 for that purpose, so $6.00 is to be sent. It was suggested Mrs Allen be asked to represent our union at the state convention in Cedar Falls Sept. 13-15. Motion was made that Mrs. Allen act as our delegate and the union pay $5.00 toward her expenses. Seconded and carried. Motion was made we give $5.00 toward the Thank offering, Mrs. Myrtle Bailey to be honored by the Thank offering. Seconded and carried. Reported 18 calls, 4 cards sent, and 4 bouquets given. Meeting closed with benediction. Nellie Lincoln - Sec'y Pro-tem W.C.T.U. met on Tuesday, Sept. 21, at home of Rachel Mikkel. After flag salutes, we sang a song. Mrs. Mikkel led in the devotions concluded with prayer by several. Mrs. Allen reported on the state convention together with the resolutions passed and the recommendations of the state president. The secretary's report was read and approved. Treasurer reported a balance of $20.12. We have 37 members and sent 31 budget dollars last year, had 6 Rock-of-Ages members. One member qualified for one-in-a-million. Announcement was made that we will invite the Malcom W.C.T.U. to come for our Oct. meeting and serve a drink and cookies for them. We were reminded to pray for Eloise Keister who will have eye operation on Sept. 28 We were asked to use the coin boxes with a Penny a day and prayer", in order to leave the $3.65 for Rock-of-Ages membership. Meeting was dismissed with the benediction. The W.C.T.U. met on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at the First Friends Church. There were several guests present, including seven women from Malcom. Lela Adams, vice-president, presided. She led the group in several songs, followed by the pledges to the flags. We were led in devotions by Rev. Warner of the First Friends church. He read scriptures and talked about the talents and gifts given us to use, then led in prayer. Mrs. Adams read a poem. "The Master's Hands and Our
