423 May 19, 1971 Three members of the W.C.T.U. met at the home of Eloise Keister. Eloise read Psalm 146 - The Lord loveth the righteous. The way of the wicked he turns upside down Scriptures were from Acts III, I Timothy and II Timothy. Paul was speaking of Timothy's mother and grandmother as being good parents Myrtle Bailey handed in a check of $3.00 for the World convention which will be in Chicago, Ill. July 28-Aug. 4, 1971. Our collection for the day was $1.75 Mable Morgan showed us two clippings about liquor which she had clipped from the Des Moines paper. We were disgusted and amazed as they very seldom do advertising such as this. Carol Sammon read some of her report about the area conference held in Oskaloosa, Iowa April 20, 1971 Sec. Carol I. Sammon June 15, 1971 Five members of the W.C.T.U. met at the home of Lela Adams. Devotions were given by Mable Morgan. The theme was Decisions. Meditation was from Ruth II: 8-17 verses. There was one correction in the May minutes. The convention in Chicago is to be the Wold Convention and not the national. A letter from Mrs. Helen Simpson in Des Moines told about chartering a bus to attend the meeting. Since then I have received a letter stating that there would be no bus engaged because of lack of passengers. The group sent 27 cards and made six calls. Mildred Jones presented the lesson instead of Carol Sammon. Her title was "Woman's Changing Role in a changing World." One hundred years ago few women worked outside the home Today especially in the U.S. women work at practically every job held by man. Mable Morgan read about alcohol in Mass. We closed the meeting by singing, "I need Thee Every Hour" and then the Mispah Benediction Mildred Jones Sec. Pro tem
