Oct. 21, 1975 W.C.T.W Eloise Keister and Fedelia German met at the home of Myrtle Bailey and Carol Sammon. We paid our dues. We discussed the State Conv. which was held at the Christian Conference Center south of Newton. Mrs. Louis Jansen the mayor of Knoxville spoke while we attend the banquet. Her topic was S-E-R-V-I-C-E. Be sincere - Have endurance - Responsibility - Vision - Ideas. God is on our side - Challenge and Enthusiasm. People spend too much on arenas. State Auditor Lloyd R. Smith of Des Moines gave the address in the main room. Hoe told us that, Government is the Home, Church and School. The three I's are Investment, Influence and Inevitable - Live for God. Don't be afraid to say "no" to wrong things. People don't need to get drunk on holidays and then have the state of Iowa hire more patrolemen to keep drunks from killing us. Oct. 1976 W.CTU. The Grinnell W.C.T.U. met Tues A.M. at the home of Myrtle Bailey and Carol Sammon. Eloise Keister our pres. led us in our American, Christian and Temperance pledges. We have voted to send money to the Lillian Stevens, Frances Willard, and Legislative funds for 1977. Eloise gave a report about our convention trip to the Penn College Student Union in [illegible], Iowa. She and I rode with Fedelia German, Oct 6, 1976. Eloise told about the three ladies who gave readings. One was a scripture from the Bible and the others gave parts of two Psalms from the Bible. Eloise pass around some pamphlets: One being I wish momy? wouldn't smoke; Alcohol vs Self Control; Lady why would you Smoke" and God's good Apple and Grapes At the evening banquet we heard the speakers say that God doesn't always give us what we ask for, but what we need. I don't remember the name of the minister who spoke. Ive misplaced my evening program. We heard an interesting soloist and a chorus from Penn College. Lela Adams, Nellie Lincoln, Fidelia German, Mable
