2 the spirit of our Prof. of Practice might hover over the patient and in his impressive style tell me what to do, there was no crawling out and I would not call counsel except at home without being solicited by the friends, and by pouring over books, pestering my husband for advice, & sleepless nights I managed to keep myself in a very unenviable state of mind. Well the puerperal patients three at once who had all been tinkered by midwives first all recovered and I began to think I was a child of luck. feeling thankful that I had not prevented nature's effecting a cure. The first month's work amounted to $45.00 which pleased me very much only I fear it added twice the number
