I shall expect you to write next Sunday. With Love your coz Mell Independence Ia Aug 2. 85 Dear Cousin Minnie: Today it is much cooler and we can begin to take a little comfort this last week it has been hotter than before. Thursday in particular it was awful from 98 to 104 in the shade all day. I did think I could stand hot weather but that day wilted me. It is strange you did not get my letter sooner for it was mailed here as soon as I got it wrote and you should have got Hattie say to have [illegible] [illegible] her picture if she cant come.
