118 Denison Ia. Dec. 6. 1879. The Denison Total Absti- nence Union met at the us- ual time and place. the President Capt. Hamilton in the chair. The meeting opened with singing and prayer by Mrs Faub. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Capt. Partridge then addressed the meeting with a few [illegible] remarks resigning the floor to Mr F. C. Spencer who made a few short address on temperance ending with the recitation of a piece of poetry. Mr Spencer was followed by music by the club. Mrs Dunbar being absent Mrs Phelps read a song from the ode card as her substitute. Miss Julia King then read a touching story followed by music by Miss
