We have nortern papers of the 16th ins from them it would seem that traitors are not as plenty in Iowa Ohio Indiana and Pennselvaina as some would wish if we take the returns of the late elections as a critirion to go by. The next thing we hear will probably be that they had not a fair [chance?] that Yankey hirelings wer called out to keep copperheads from voting or something or other. They wont suffer, the voice of the people to be made public untraniled especialy while it exposes their weakness, but come what will the right must prevail Men are beginning to open their eyes. They have been duped by politicians long enough. Their rule brought trouble on us and now they would like to settle it for us, but they are not to be trusted. the people have the mater in their own hands and they propose to keep it at least for the present
