All of our boys are well and in good spirits except Abott, he is with the company but is of duty the most of the time I dont think that he ever will be a well man again, he may live for years possibly but I fear that his days are numbered Clay Seymourne makes a first rate soldier we all like him, Higly is with the company now, he is not marked very bad, the regt never was health than at the present time and wer never better clothed, you see nothing but the skye blue pants in the ranks some few are barefooted but will not be long, we have caps instead of hats but will have hats as soon as they can be had. If I had no family behind I should like the service first rate better than anything that I could be engaged in at the present time but as it is I would prefer being with my family, but I supose we will have to do the best we can under the circumstances and wait the apointed time tell Frank that he must be careful and not let the colts hurt him but I must close.
